Ever notice how challenging it can be to focus and quiet our brains? The more we accomplish, often the busier the mind. Meditation is cited as a "must have" for top performers as integral to their success. Yet it can be hard to get it going.
So start here - with a free gently guided meditation.
I'm so glad that we have the opportunity to sit together and meditate today!
A few suggestions:
1) Make sure to turn off all technology or if you're watching this on your phone, make sure that you silence any notifications.
2) Find a quiet place where you can sit uninterrupted for 20 minutes.
3) Sit upright in a chair or on the floor - I don't recommend laying down unless you need to nap ;-)
If you're new to meditation, just remember that this is a practice and it takes time to develop even just the skill of focus. Your mind will NOT be clear - that's a common misconception. In fact, you might notice that it's even noisier than you realized!
So just take this time to sink into your breath and use my cues to come back to the present moment. Do the best you can and remember that a key part of meditation is becoming aware of your thoughts and judgments rather than trying to get rid of them.
